Glass

Glass

  • SmartSun™ Tempered Glass

SmartSun™ glass gives you the benefits of Low-E glass, plus it helps shield your home from the sun's heat by filtering out harmful UV rays.

    Ideal for: All Climates

SmartSun™ with HeatLock Coating is available on 400 Series products. This prevents more heat from escaping your home but slightly reduces the visible light transmitted through the glass.

  • Low-E4® Tempered Glass

Low-E4® Glass reflects heat in the summer and helps to retain interior heat in the winter.

    Ideal for: All Climates

Low-E4® with HeatLock Coating is available on 400 Series products. This improves the U-Factor performance of the window but slightly reduces how much light comes through the glass.

  • PassiveSun® Tempered Glass

If you live in a cold climate, PassiveSun® glass allows the sun to heat your home.

    Ideal for: Northern Climates

  • Sun Tempered Glass

Sun glass has excellent thermal performance. This glass has a subtle tint that blocks out more heat from the sun.

    Ideal for: Southern Climates

  • HeatLock® Technology

HeatLock® coating reflects heat that likes to escape your home through window glass. It can be added to most of Andersen's glass options.

Decorative and Specialty Glass

  • Safety Glass
Tempered safety glass is available on all products, and comes standard on all patio doors.

    Sound-Reducing Glass
This glass helps reduce the volume of outside noise.  Available with Low-E, SmartSun and HeatLock coatings.

    Art Glass
Andersen® art glass is available in a wide variety of patterns adding uncommon elegance to any home style.

    Patterned Glass
Let in light while obscuring vision and adding a unique decorative touch to your home.

Andersen pattern glass options include: Cascade, Fern, Obscure, Reed.

Art Glass

  • Classic Series

The four styles included in our Classic Series panels represent major architectural design themes from the late 1800's through the 1930's. Their symmetric patterns are available in distinctive color schemes as well as colorless glass, and their caming may be finished with a gold tone, silver tone or antique patina.

  • Artisan Series

Two designs influenced by 20th century American and European architectural schools feature striking visual patterns that evoke an extraordinary blend of art and nature.

  • Historic Series

Screens & Blinds

Insect Screens

  • All insect screens have a long-lasting fiberglass screen mesh with a charcoal finish and are color matched to the exterior of the door unless otherwise specified.
  • Gliding Insect Screen

The insect screen is available for both two-panel doors and four-panel doors. Gliding insect screens have Delrin® injection-molded bottom rollers with self-contained leveling adjusters, providing smooth operation. Interior and exterior pulls and latch are provided.
  • Retractable Insect Screen

The retractable insect screen is installed on the exterior of the door and opens side-to-side across the width of the opening. When the insect screen is not in use, it neatly retracts into a small canister mounted on the exterior of the door. The retractable insect screen canister is available for two-panel patio doors. Please note, retractable insect screen track reduces clear opening height by 1".

Blinds-Between-the-Glass

  • Convenient blinds-between-the-glass are now available on select 400 Series gliding patio doors.

    • White blinds are located between the panes of insulated glass, protected from dust and damage
    • Glass is easy to clean without the need to move the blinds
    • Cordless design to easily raise, lower or tilt blinds for control of light and privacy

I've had this door for several months now and I'm very satisfied. My old door was an Andersen and I had it for over 30 years. This one is built just as well if not better. It holds out the heat in the summer and the cold in the winter. It operates very smoothly. I highly recommend Andersen doors and windows.
