Fogged or broken insulated Glass?
Look no further. Brennan Enterprises has the solution.
A foggy window
is a result of the insulating spacer around the perimeter of the
glass breaking down and allowing moisture in-between the glass
permanently discoloring the glass package often giving a “foggy”
appearance.

There are
several options you have in curing foggy glass. The simplest, least
expensive but also least permanent is to replace the existing glass
package with a similar glass unit. Typical life expectancy of a
replacement glass package is 10 years.
If you have
multiple pieces of foggy glass you could upgrade to energy
efficient, LowE glass packages. LowE packages have a slight tint to
them and will be noticeably different if next to clear glass. Best
application for LowE glass and to reap the maximum energy savings
benefit is to replace all the glass packages in the home. If you
can’t afford doing all the glass at once then the other option is to
break the project down into bite-sized pieces and do one elevation
of the home at a time.
We can provide
the same high performance glass we use in our Lifetime Energy
Efficient Replacement Windows provided by manufactures like Owens
Corning. Since your window is typically 90% glass this is an
affordable approach to Saving Energy and drastically reducing the
utility bills.
A third option
is to have all of the windows (frame, parts, glass) replaced with
New Energy Efficient windows making your entire home more beautiful,
comfortable and energy efficient.

more about foggy glass
During the
production of a double paned insulated window, around the perimeter
between the panes, there is typically a metal insulating spacer that
is designed to keep a vacuum between the panes keeping moisture and
foreign matter out. By removing both the air and moisture, the space
between the panes should be dead and efficiently insulated.
After a period
of approximately 10 years, the unit has been continually subjected
to constant expansion and contraction from heat and cold
temperatures resulting in the glass releasing itself from the
insulator and allowing both air and moisture to enter between the
two panes permanently damaging the seal and allowing the "foggy"
effect occur.
Initially you
will visually recognize as a fog on a cold humid day. This
continuous reaction progresses to a weepy wet appearance. The final
progression can be seen as a white powdery substance that
conclusively results in permanent etching of the glass.
At Brennan
Enterprises we have developed methods of installation and a High
Performance glass package Design that will Dramatically Reduced the
stress on the seal thus increasing the Efficiency and Durability of
the New Glass Insert.
