  • ENERGY STAR® Rated Shingles

Your roof can be ENERGY STAR® certified, too. This line of Owens Corning roofing products is available with "cool" shingles. The granules on these asphalt shingles reflect solar rays and decrease the amount of heat transferred into your home's interior. That means you'll be able to use less AC to keep your home comfortable.

ENERGY STAR rated shingles are required to have an initial solar reflectance index of 0.25 and a 3-year aged solar reflectance of 0.15.

  • StreakGuard™ Algae Resistance Protection

Stop algae growth from ruining your home's appearance. Algae is what causes those ugly black streaks on roofs. Owens Corning blends copper-lined granules that help resist algae growth, with deeply hued granules. Owens Corning® StreakGuard Algae Resistance Protection, a patented blend of mineral, copper, and ceramic is scientifically developed to meet the needs of Texas homeowners.

  • Wind Resistance

Missing or misplaced roofing shingles can cause leaks or other interior damage. High winds, like those we get during thunderstorms, can open your roof up to risk. The quality and performance of the sealant on a shingle helps guard against this risk. Owens Corning certifies their shingles to industry wind standards through independent third-party testing.
