Tile Trends and Ideas You Need to Try

One of my favorite pastimes is scrolling through Instagram and saving interesting tile ideas that I'd like to try in future designs. I've compiled a few options that will add a fresh look to your home.

To begin, though, you must choose a pattern. Below is a great tool from Studio McGee that shows a few popular tile patterns.

Stacked Tile

The first trend I have for you is stacked tile. This pattern really adds a modern feel to the space, plus it looks so clean and crisp.

Amber Interiors nailed it with this design--a bold color with a stacked pattern. This was my inspiration in a recent renovation project. Instead of a blank wall behind mirrors, use a fun tile pattern/color to take your bathroom to the next level.

This vertical stacked pattern from Architects EAT is gorgeous, modern and creates a refreshing bathroom retreat. Don't you get that spa feeling from this space?

Brick Lay

Here is the classic brick lay pattern. It's truly stunning with this navy and gold color scheme.

Check out the subtle sheen of this tile. The brick lay pattern paired with a brilliant tile has style written all over it.

Parquet

A parquet design is unique and can be more eclectic if used in a bright or bold color. The design below, from Fireclay Tile, creates a sleek look using a white tile and grout combination.

Similar Shades

The Fresh Exchange uses multiple shades of green, or an analogous color scheme, in this space. It adds continuity and creates a tranquil design, but also adds a bit of flair. Totally trying this in my next bathroom.

Square Tile

I've seen square tile popping up everywhere, and it's really a nice alternative to a rectangular shape. I especially love any shiny square tile.

The tile pattern and color you choose reflects the mood of the room. Utilize these trends to help you create the perfect look for your space. Happy tiling!
