Burris Window Review

Burris Windows is a full-service window and door manufacturing company. Its headquarters are located in Carrollton, Texas. They ship to the local and broader Texan area. Over the past 30 years, they have completed over 85,000 projects and have expanded their business ever since.

If you are located in Texas, you might consider Burris Windows for your home window needs.

Who is Burris Windows?

Burris windows make specialized windows out of their hybridized materials created from vinyl for enhanced performance and durability. They promote the fact that windows and doors add vitality to your life and home. A window should allow light in, keep the weather out, and control the temperature inside the home. They partner with other leading names in the industry, including VEKA, a vinyl profile supplier, Cardinal Glass and the National Fenestration Rating Council.

Their partnership with the NFRC means that they are committed to providing high-quality. Their product ratings include U-value, Visible Transmittance, Solar Heat Gain Coefficient, Air Leakage and Condensation Resistance. The NFRC enables builders, architects, code officials and those that manufacture the windows to compare the energy efficiency of products.

Does Burris sell replacement windows?

You can use Burris's windows for both new construction jobs as well as remodels. In addition, their windows function well as replacement windows since they prioritize energy efficiency.

All the Burris windows come with industry-standard features. The parts are quality as they are sourced from trusted providers, including the partnerships listed above. The replacement windows themselves are made in 1/8" increments so that you can get more of a custom fit for the homeowner. This makes sure your windows fit securely and precisely.

What are Burris windows made of?

Burris has three types of windows, all of which are made of vinyl. These include the TectView™ EX, TectView™ CA and TectView™ AC.

All of the windows from Burris are created with vinyl. The difference between the three windows doesn't have as much to do with the window's frame and its material. Instead, they have slightly different kinds of glass and glazing to help with seeing through the window and for it to enhance your home's energy efficiency.

What styles are Burris windows available in?

The style of your Burris window depends on which of the three options you select. The TectView™ EX comes in the majority of the standard window styles and some more creative shapes and styles. These include:

  • Single hung
  • Double hung
  • End vent slider
  • Single slider
  • Picture window
  • Half round window

If you are interested in the TectView™ EX but need a shape that differs from this preliminary list, contact the company as they periodically expand their offering without updating the website. Their product inventory will be up to date but may not show up on the primary site.

The TectView™ CA is a window made to fill the space of a casement-style window. It only comes in three styles, including:

  • Casement
  • Fixed
  • Awning

Finally, the TectView™ AC gives you another option for some of the window styles we listed for the EC window if you want something without glazing. The styles of the TectView™ AC include:

  • Single hung
  • End vent slider
  • Single slider
  • Picture window
  • Half round window

Again, this might not be the most up-to-date product list available from Burris in this window style. If you are interested in this window in a different style, contact Burris or explore our product pages to see additional window brands.

What colors are Burris windows available in?

Burris has a limited palette of colors that their windows come in since they are produced with vinyl. Vinyl is a reliable material, but it does have the drawback of offering only a few colors. Burris's windows come in white, tan, clay and bronze/white. The exception to this is the TectView™ EX, which comes in all the colors except the bronze/white offering.

Can Burris windows be customized?

Burris does not offer a variety of customization choices. Instead, you will have to keep updated with their product selection if you don't see a window style that you need from them.

Does Burris offer product warranties?

Burris offers a Limited Lifetime Warranty to cover any manufacturing defects. There is no consumer liability attached to this warranty, and it doesn't cover any damages that result from improper use, acts of God or a shift in the building's foundation. They use the same warranty for all of their TectView products, which includes all of their windows.

Who are Burris's competitors?

Burris's competitors tend to be smaller companies specializing in vinyl windows or are local to a similar area in Texas. These companies include:

  • Alside
  • NT Window
  • Don Young Windows
  • Sunrise Windows

If you want standard styles of vinyl windows, you have a good option in Burris. However, if you still find yourself questioning it and are interested in learning about other window products available in the Dallas-Fort Worth area you can always talk to window and door experts at Brennan Corp.
