I am so grateful that such an honest, ethical, professional company exists.
This was an absolutely amazing experience overall. I couldn't be happier with my brand new windows! They have made a HUGE difference in the temperatures and draftiness of my home. So far, my energy bills are slightly lower, but I expect I may see even bigger reductions in those bills during the coldest and hottest months of the year. My windows were installed in early October, so I've only had the relatively mild months of October and November to evaluate changes in my bills. I can very happily report that we had all of our plantation shutters wide-open during the Christmas snow storm and recent bitter cold, and were thereby treated to gorgeous winter views without any of the terrible, cold draftiness of the past. It was wonderful! My college son's bedroom is a relatively small room with one wall that is comprised almost entirely of windows. The 3 windows on that one wall have hard-to-fit angled tops and each window is approximately 36 "wide x 9" tall. For the past 15 years or so, it has been nearly impossible to keep this small bedroom cool enough in the summer or warm enough in the winter, because the old windows were so drafty and the glass was so ineffective. The old glass had no low-e coating and no argon gas. To make matters worse, the windows were ugly, fogged over, and didn't look good with their busy grid pattern behindour busy plantation shutters. Now, while my son is home for Winter Break, I hear nothing but rave reviews about how wonderful his new windows are! He keeps the shutters open most of the time, to enjoy the view. For the past 15 years or so, those shutters have been tightly closed to make every futile attempt to keep out the heat or cold. I cannot express how beautiful the winter snow was out those 3 huge windows Christmas day while we were warmly snuggled inside. Robert, the Brennan Enterprises salesman who sold me the windows, was the best! He was very punctual, very responsive, answered all my questions in short order (and believe me, I had A LOT!), and gave me excellent advice about which products might best meet my needs. There was absolutely no hard sell, no manipulations, no double talk. He was just a genuinely great guy who sold me a great product at a fair price. I count myself lucky to have been assigned to Robert. HE made the sale! Likewise, the two guys who installed my windows, Willy and Pete, were out of this world! You could not hope for better installers! They were extremely conscientious, knowledgable, professional, polite, and considerate. They were punctual to the minute. In fact, they often arrived earlier than scheduled and then, out of courtesy, waited until exactly the appointed time to knock on my door, so as not to wake me up. ;At the end of each day on the job, they cleaned up the job site to a degree that I could hardly believe. I think there were days when they left my yard and home cleaner than when they arrived! They took down plantation shutters to install the windows and then carefully reinstalled the shutters. They pointed out a few windows that had incurred water damage over the years so that I could arrange repairs with other contractors. They did everything right to build my trust from the very beginning. And because of their incredible work ethic and earnest demeanor, they put me right at ease and made the experience extra pleasant from start to finish. I seriously could not be any happier with what they did. They were absolutely incredible. The people in the office always answered their phones and were very easy to talk to. They each seemed to have the pleasant, happy charm that puts me right at ease. However, like a few other reviewers here, I did encounter some logistics and communications problems with the administrative end of things. The left hand didn't seem to know what the right hand was doing on more than one occasion. It turns out that they accidentally placed a 214 area code on some of my paperwork, instead of a 972 area code, which caused a whole host of communication problems for the first few weeks. They kept insisting that they had attempted to reach me but that I never answered, and I kept insisting that my phones note all calls and that I hadn't received ANY calls at all. After a few weeks of that, I grew pretty frustrated with the office, but as soon as they realized that they were dialing the wrong area code, communications improved for the most part. Still, as a customer, it was next to impossible to figure out who I was supposed to talk to for what. Amie emailed me to tell me she would be handling my account, but I rarely heard from her again. Susan was very helpful and cheerful, and she gave me assurances from the start that I had purchased an excellent product and was lined up with outstanding installers, but she wasn't the one who was actually handling my account. The person I worked with the most, in the end, was Gavin. But as I understand it, he was actually in charge of coordinating the company's installations and working with the installers and the products themselves, not the customers. But he is the one who made things right, time and time again. It wasn't that any of the people in the office had bad attitudes; it wasn't that they were somehow incompetent -- I got the opposite impression: they were cheerful, kind, and competent. But somehow, things just didn't seem to run efficiently or effectively from my perspective as a customer. Communication was frequently fair to poor. When I made a stink, it became good to excellent. But, no matter. Because all people involved were cheerful, polite, helpful, honest, and genuine, and because the people who REALLY made the difference for me were totally amazing at what they did (Robert in sales, and Willy & Pete the installers), and because the product I purchased has been beautiful and very effective, I am a very, very HAPPY customer!! I cannot extol the virtues of this company enough. In general, I'm a fairly nervous customer. I was more nervous about this window purchase than any other home improvement purchase I have ever made.I attempted to purchase replacement windows from other companies on 5 or 6 occasions prior to this one, but I chickened out every time. In other words, in order to leave me this happy with such a scary purchase, this company had to do a whole lot right, and Robert had to do a great job as a salesman, and Willy and Pete had to do an exceptional job at installation, and the product had to be just right and meet all of my expectations ... and ALL THAT came together beautifully! I am so grateful that such an honest, ethical, professional, friendly window installation company exists. You can't go wrong with Brennan Enterprises for your replacement windows!
