The 400 Series Frenchwood gliding patio door is Andersen's best-selling patio door. The design features the old-world character of traditional French doors in a modern package, it's the perfect cost- and space-saving choice.
The Frenchwood Gliding door is made of a wood interior with a vinyl exterior for long-lasting beauty. Allow more natural light to enter through multiple panels and adjust with the option to add Blinds-Between-the-Glass.
Protected by Andersen's Owner-2-Owner Limited Warranty
The sill has an extruded aluminum track, with a stainless steel cap that resists stain, rust and denting and an attractive wear-resistant, heat-baked finish in a neutral gray color.
The exterior frame is covered with rigid vinyl that maintains an attractive appearance while minimizing maintenance. The wood frame is treated with a water-repellent preservative for long-lasting protection and performance.
A flexible vinyl weatherstrip provides a positive seal between the frame and panels.
The unique Andersen® reachout locking hardware pulls the door panel snugly into the jamb for a weathertight seal and enhanced security.
The exterior of the wood door panel is protected with a low-maintenance urethane base finish in White, Sandtone, Terratone or Forest Green color. Panel interior surfaces are unfinished pine, oak or maple veneer. Low-maintenance prefinished vinyl White interiors are also available on units with White exteriors.
Grilles applied to the interior and exterior of the window with aluminum spacers between the glass create an authentic look.
Style your window with permanent exterior grilles and choose between permanent or removable interior grilles.
Removable interior grilles make cleaning easy. Secured via a fastener or grille clip, these can be removed easily.
Grilles sit between the panes of glass for easy cleaning.
SmartSun™ glass gives you the benefits of Low-E glass, plus it helps shield your home from the sun's heat by filtering out harmful UV rays.
Ideal for: All Climates
SmartSun™ with HeatLock Coating is available on 400 Series products. This prevents more heat from escaping your home but slightly reduces the visible light transmitted through the glass.
Low-E4® Glass reflects heat in the summer and helps to retain interior heat in the winter.
Ideal for: All Climates
Low-E4® with HeatLock Coating is available on 400 Series products. This improves the U-Factor performance of the window but slightly reduces how much light comes through the glass.
If you live in a cold climate, PassiveSun® glass allows the sun to heat your home.
Ideal for: Northern Climates
Sun glass has excellent thermal performance. This glass has a subtle tint that blocks out more heat from the sun.
Ideal for: Southern Climates
HeatLock® coating reflects heat that likes to escape your home through window glass. It can be added to most of Andersen's glass options.
Tempered safety glass is available on all products, and comes standard on all patio doors.
This glass helps reduce the volume of outside noise. Available with Low-E, SmartSun and HeatLock coatings.
Andersen® art glass is available in a wide variety of patterns adding uncommon elegance to any home style.
Let in light while obscuring vision and adding a unique decorative touch to your home.
The four styles included in our Classic Series panels represent major architectural design themes from the late 1800's through the 1930's. Their symmetric patterns are available in distinctive color schemes as well as colorless glass, and their caming may be finished with a gold tone, silver tone or antique patina.
Two designs influenced by 20th century American and European architectural schools feature striking visual patterns that evoke an extraordinary blend of art and nature.
Convenient blinds-between-the-glass are now available on select 400 Series gliding patio doors.
Exterior trim adds a finishing touch to your windows or doors and is often essential in achieving authentic architectural style. You can match the color of your windows or doors, or complement them with a different color.
With the most advanced technology in the industry, patented VeriLock® sensors not only indicate whether your windows and patio doors are open, they even tell you if they are locked or unlocked.* No other sensors can do that.

I've had this door for several months now and I'm very satisfied. My old door was an Andersen and I had it for over 30 years. This one is built just as well if not better. It holds out the heat in the summer and the cold in the winter. It operates very smoothly. I highly recommend Andersen doors and windows.
