Milgard Trinsic Sliding Patio Doors Review

Milgard launched its newest line of windows and doors earlier this year – the Trinsic Series. The Trinsic Series is designed to satisfy the homeowner’s search for contemporary windows and doors.

In this post, we’ll review the Trinsic Sliding Vinyl Patio Doors

Watch the video below for a quick view of the Trinsic sliding patio door or keep reading to learn about the details of this door.

Material

The frame components for this sliding patio door are made from high-performance vinyl. Some vendors simply buy vinyl material from third parties and then cut it to size to assemble a product. Milgard produces its own vinyl, giving it complete control over the style and quality of the material. Modern, high-quality vinyl is energy-efficient, low-maintenance, and can withstand Texas heat for years.

Milgard offers other vinyl collections but the Trinsic Series was designed specifically for contemporary homes. These doors have a narrow frame profile, maximum glazing area, even sightlines, square corners, and clean mitered corners.

Glass

The glass in your door has the biggest impact on the door’s energy performance. Milgard is an ENERGY STAR® partner(↗) and offers high energy performance options that meet or exceed U-Factor and Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) criteria. The Trinsic series includes:

  • AAMA approved glazing tape
  • Rigid vinyl setting blocks
  • Extruded vinyl glazing beads
  • Insulated dual glazed panes

Work with your Milgard dealer to build a door system that meets ENERGY STAR®(↗) criteria. We’re located in the South-Central region which requires a U-Factor rating less than or equal to 0.30 and a SHGC less than or equal to 0.25.

Cost & Lead Time

The cost for a standard two-panel Trinsic sliding patio door starts at about $1,350 and has a lead time of 3-4 weeks. The cost does not include installation and will vary depending on how the door is customized.

What do we think?

The Trinsic sliding door is a perfect fit for contemporary homes. It’s also energy-efficient, durable, and easy to operate, with the proper care this door will last decades.
