Materials
The biggest difference between Essence and Trinsic windows is the material the frames are made of.
Trinsic windows are made of a high-performance vinyl material designed to withstand harsh climate conditions. The vinyl frames are extruded and fabricated by Milgard.
Essence windows are a beautiful wood frame window enveloped by a tough, durable fiberglass frame. Fiberglass exteriors are resistant to water, cold, heat, insects, and ultraviolet rays.

Color Options
Homeowners and builders have to consider many variables when deciding on the right windows for a home. In addition to material and cost, color is a big deciding factor.
Essence windows have wood frame interiors available in douglas fir, natural pine, or a primed pine so you can paint them any color you’d like. As for the exterior of Essence windows, choose from 16 long-lasting color options.

Operation Styles
Milgard offers a variety of window operation styles including active and fixed windows. See an example of Trinsic sliders in the photo above. Although each series offers 7 operating styles the Essence series offers a double hung and radius casement which aren’t available in the Trinsic series and the Trinsic series offers double horizontal sliders not available in the Essence series.

Milgard Essence and Trinsic windows feature easy to use SmartTouch® locks. The lock engages when the window is closed and is unlocked with just a single motion. The Essence series offers 5 options for finishes on the locks while the Trinsic series lock will match the color of the sash.

Warranty
Milgard offers a Full Lifetime Warranty on all its products.
Full Lifetime Warranty Details:
- Milgard will repair or replace any defect in materials or workmanship and will pay the costs of all parts and labor for as long as the purchaser owns his home.
- Some exclusions apply.
- Coverage extends 10 years from the install date of the original warranty to the successive owners, free of charge.
