Materials

The Tuscany series and Trinsic series windows are both made from Milgard’s signature vinyl formula. As a vertically integrated company, Milgard has complete control over the vinyl material used to manufacture the vinyl frames in Tuscany and Trinsic windows. The difference here is more so in the design of the vinyl frames. Tuscany windows have a few more curves to them than Trinsic windows which have clean lines and square corners.

Color Options

Milgard vinyl windows are available in standard interior and exterior colors as well as premium exterior colors. A two-coat formulation results in dependable long-lasting colors. Premium finishes are translucent to allow UV rays to pass through the paint and reflect off the vinyl frames. This coating technology preserves the exterior finish.

Operation Styles

Windows come in many styles, Milgard offers all the most common styles in both Trinsic and Tuscany window collections. The Tuscany series does offer two more styles than the Trinsic series which may make a difference to some homeowners.

The Tuscany series offers a double hung style and bay and bow styles. Bay and bow styles aren’t as common in most homes as hung windows. Double hung windows are visually similar to single hung windows but have two operable sashes instead of one. Two operable sash allow you to ventilate from the top and bottom of the window.

For a clear view of the difference between these windows you’ll want to schedule a consultation or visit a showroom, pictures don’t do windows the justice they deserve.

Hardware

Milgard Tuscany and Trinsic windows feature easy-to-operate SmartTouch® window locks. SmartTouch locks are incorporated into the sash for a sleek, low-profile design. A single motion can open and close the window, and lock it unlike traditional spoon locks. Milgard designed this type of lock with seniors in mind, creating a lock that enables people to operate windows and comfortably.

SmartTouch window locks have a sleek, low-profile design and while they do look different for Tuscany and Trinsic series windows they operate the same way - lift and lower the latch, no pinching, squeezing, or twisting necessary.
