NT Windows vs Andersen Windows Review

When shopping for windows in North Texas, there are a lot of options to choose from, including local and national brands. With each brand choice comes a variety of options, costs, and features. Two popular brands are NT Windows and Andersen Windows. Here is a list of the features and choices available from each designed to help you make the right choice for you.

NT Windows vs Andersen Windows

NT Windows is a manufacturer of aluminum and vinyl framed windows and doors, including those designed for sunrooms. The company has been around for more than three decades and was incorporated in 1990. The North Texas company sources all of its materials from inside the United States and produces more than 100,000 windows annually in its plant in Dallas/Ft. Worth.

Andersen Windows was founded in Wisconsin, has its headquarters in Minnesota, and manufactures windows both in the United States and in Europe. They offer an extensive selection of windows, including five distinct product lines using various materials.

Both companies are based in the United States and source their materials from U.S. manufacturers with the exception of some of Andersen’s European product lines.

NT Window Collections

NT offers three distinct window collections. The first is vinyl, the second is aluminum, and they offer an additional specialty line of windows. They are fairly self-explanatory, and each line has its own subset of windows:

Vinyl: This line contains five sublines of vinyl windows, each with its own benefits and features.

  • Traditions
  • Executive 700
  • Executive 900
  • Solar Pro
  • 8000 Series

Aluminum: The aluminum line is perhaps the most popular, containing the Twinsulator series. This includes aluminum thermal break frames and additional features that enhance efficiency.

Specialty: There are always those windows that require special applications, from bow and bay windows to slimline, casement, and those that require awnings. The NT windows specialty line has those covered.

Andersen Window Collections

Andresen has five different window collections.

  • 100 Series Fibrex Windows: Most popular with homebuilders and contractors.
  • 200 Series Vinyl-Clad Wood Windows
  • 400 Series Vinyl-Clad Wood Windows
  • A-Series Fiberglass-Clad Wood Windows
  • E-Series Aluminum-Clad Wood Windows: Most popular with North Texas homeowners.

Like the NT Window collections, each has its own benefits and construction types, depending on your application.

Both window companies offer an equal number of window styles, but depending on the materials, type, and style of window, each has particular product lines to meet your needs.

NT Window Finishes

NT windows offer a variety of finishes in various colors and external paint types. The variety of colors depends largely on the style and materials you choose, and you’ll get the largest selection with their vinyl line.

For example, the Twinsulator line offers white, bronze, and black finish options. The Traditions vinyl line offers nineteen different color options to choose from.

Andersen Window Finishes

Andersen windows also offer a similar variety of finish options that also vary by product line. For example, the 100 Series windows offer 4 interior choices and six exterior finishes. The E-Series windows offer 50 Exterior Colors and seven anodized finishes. There are ten interior wood species, nine interior wood finishes, and 13 standard interior colors.

Through the E-Series, Andersen also offers custom color choices, one of the reasons the E-Series is so popular with homeowners.

NT Window Warranties

NT offers a generous Lifetime limited warranty that is partially transferrable even if you sell your home. A popular option is their glass breakage coverage, providing homeowners with peace of mind when Jimmy tees up the softball in the front yard, or the annual Thanksgiving football game sends an errant ball headed the wrong direction.
